This past Sunday, June 2nd, the ROG Ally X was revealed on ROG Global's YouTube channel, detailing everything that has changed and is new in the ROG Ally X.
Our goal is to inform you of the changes made in an easy to digest way.
Take a look at the reveal video below.
Now we will go into the changes and what is new with the ROG Ally X.
The ROG Ally X now has an upgraded battery of 80wh, up from 40wh, and now we aren't limited at a 512gb SSD anymore, we now have a default 1TB ssd so you don't need to worry about uninstalling some games to download a new one.
The memory has been upgraded to 24GB of LP DDR5x 7500 RAM, ensuring smooth gameplay without any lag. And let's not forget the upgraded cooling system, which keeps things chill (literally) with 24% more air volume and a 6°C temperature reduction.
The new ergonomic design features rounder corners, thicker and rounder grips, and slanted triggers for a more natural feel during those intense gaming sessions. They've even improved the joystick module for better durability and precision, and the D-pad gets a makeover with a more distinct cross and a matte finish.

The port selection gets a revamp as well, with the XG mobile port being replaced by two USB-C ports – one of which supports the super-fast USB4 with Thunderbolt technology. Also removing the ROG XG Mobile Interface so the $1000 external graphics cards you purchased for the ROG Ally no longer works with the new model.
Availability & Pricing
The ROG Ally X is available for pre-order starting today, July 2nd, with shipping starting July 22nd. The price tag is $799, and that includes 3 months of Game Pass to jumpstart your gaming library.
The ROG Ally X might not be a complete overhaul, but it definitely packs some punches under the hood. Asus even calls it an "upgrade" rather than a redesign.
People are torn between upgrading their current ROG Ally for the newest model, as there aren't too many changes this year. We don't know if this will be a yearly change like how we see with smartphones, we can only hope that if it is, we see some more upgrades next year.
While the main attraction of the ROG Ally lies in its capacity to download and play games directly on the device, its Windows platform opens up even more possibilities.
With Xbox Cloud Gaming, you can effortlessly access a vast library of games.
